Specials are attended with the Kindergarten classes for general education inclusion. Ms. Amy and educational assistants attend the specials as well to assist and modify materials and activities for preschool level.
PE is usually held inside the Manoa gym. Students explore different locomotor skills (walking, running, hopping, jumping, skipping, galloping) through a variety of fun games.
Please remember to bring or wear closed-toe shoes on Fridays
Music is held in room 2. Students explore different basic instruments such as bells, drums, maracas, the triangle, and, rhythm sticks, etc. They learn how to listen to the beat of music, and learn the words to many new songs.
Students get to use the computers in the tech lab. They play educational games such as "Bailey's Book House" and learn how to make art using a painting program called "Tux Paint". By the end of the year, students begin basic keyboarding: finding and pressing letters on the keyboard for older preschoolers.
Students listen to a story and participate in an activity related to the story, usually an art activity.
Every other week students will be able to check out 1 book. They should return it the following week in order to check out a new one.
